Without a doubt a good, clear and concise CV or application form is paramount when making a career move, going for promotion, a new contract or simply applying for a new position. A good CV is certainly one of the single most important documents you are ever likely to need. Many people think that applying for a new position is all about presentation but this is only the tip of the iceberg. Certainly, if your presentation is not picked up within a few seconds then your CV may never be read. In fact it may be quickly shredded even before it reaches the recruiter’s desk!
However, if, in the very first instance your CV looks more than a little interesting, and is clear, concise and focused there may be little competition. The old adage “never judge a book by its cover” is not exactly true when it comes to marketing yourself via a professional CV.
